THIS WEEK'S NOTICES

SPEAKER

One of Our Own

This week we were privileged to have Keith Rogers talk to us. It’s always interesting to hear the life stories of our members as we get to find out the rich history that our members have. Keith was no exception in this regard – hailing from Wales, Keith is an engineer and merchant navy man who has seen the world – from Liverpool to New York to Panama to the Caribbean and eventually landing up in NZ where he met Beverly, had a family, got very involved with Rotary and eventually moved to Cambridge. Thanks for sharing your life story with us Keith.

Thanks

Cambridge Brass Brand catered our dinner last night and in return received a cheque for $1,100 which will go towards funding the younger members to get to Le Quesnoy in November. We wish them all well with their journey.

This Coming Week

Next week our new District Governor, Graham Jull, and his wife will be visiting us. We’d love to have a great turnout next week – it’s open to partners also so please let Tarbutt’s know if you’re bringing an extra.

Key Updates

  • From Robyn – there is a Club Services Committee meeting at 5.00pm next Thursday prior to the club meeting at our usual venue. If you’re on this committee please can you join the meeting.

  • From Ray on behalf of Jan – there is a brainstorming meeting next Tuesday on marketing ideas for the promotion of Taste Waikato. Ideas people are most welcome!

What’s going on in Waipa this coming week?

YOUR WEEKLY ROSTER

Please take note of the Duty Roster and be in good time for your duties.

NOTE The new Duty "Magic Moment" is: A short comment referencing something in our community, or within Rotary which you find inspiring, encouraging or adding to the joy and pleasure of life. It should be an uplifting story that takes no more than two minutes to deliver. Ideally it will be something from the last week or so, something others may not yet have heard about.

For example Ray started the year by referencing two inspiring young Kiwi’s honoured, that week, by the Queen for their work in gender equality and mental health. They were Alexia Hilbertidou (aged 19) and Ezekiel Raui (aged 20) who had already made a difference.
