THIS WEEK'S NOTICES

This Week
Taste Waikato

What an amazing contribution Jan and her husband, Michael, have made to our Rotary Club with the development and publication of Taste Waikato showcasing the wonderful food our region has to offer. We were treated to a great preview of the finished product with Jan presenting the back-story and the where to from here.
  • Sponsorship was pre-sold and an acknowledgment to Roger who made a great contribution in this area alongside Jan
  • Michael was the wordsmith, Jan created the delectable recipes and Bev did the proof-reading
  • Bruce has assisted with some of the photography
  • The stories have been written with a light-heartedness
  • And did you know there are 10 truffle farms in our region?
Jan & Michael – we would like to thank you for the absolutely wonderful work you have done for our club and its future fundraising.

Now it’s time for the rest of us to get out there and facilitate the sale of our 5000 copies. Retail price - $39.95 and every idea you have for generating sales will be welcomed. Christmas is just 15 weeks away so it’s perfect timing for Christmas presents too.

Be at the launch on October 11 (a Thursday night)!

This Coming Week

On Thursday, we are bound to be inspired to get and there and just give it a go. Aaron Ure will be speaking to us about the programmes he runs at the Avantidrome for anyone with an illness, injury or disability. He does some incredible work to get the bodies and minds functioning better with his Avanti trike programme.

Key Updates

  • Marshalling for the Harriers event should be in your diary – this Sunday! If you didn’t get a briefing on Thursday night, please be at the school for a 9.15 briefing on Sunday. You should all know where you are stationed by now and if you can get to your site early that would be great because our top Harriers will ahead of the rest of the pack!

  • Don’t’ forget to get your tickets for the Garden Festival – head to any one of these places to get yours ….. https://www.cgf.nz/, Amber Nurseries and Cambridge jewellers

Guests, Extras & Apologies – Note The New Process

YOUR WEEKLY ROSTER

Please take note of the Duty Roster and be in good time for your duties.

NOTE The Duty "Magic Moment" is: A short comment referencing something in our community, or within Rotary which you find inspiring, encouraging or adding to the joy and pleasure of life. It should be an uplifting story that takes no more than two minutes to deliver. Ideally it will be something from the last week or so, something others may not yet have heard about.

For example Ray started the year by referencing two inspiring young Kiwi’s honoured, that week, by the Queen for their work in gender equality and mental health. They were Alexia Hilbertidou (aged 19) and Ezekiel Raui (aged 20) who had already made a difference.
