THIS WEEK'S NOTICES

Last Week Was One of Our Own

I love it when we get to hear the job & life talks from our members and last night we had a great presentation from John Windle!
  • John hails from Chesterfield
  • And took us back to 90 AD with some the history of the town
·John showed us an incredible photo of the 800 lads who he attended school with – you’d be hard pushed to get a phot taken like that these days
  • John trained as a teacher and specialised in Special Education
  • He further trained in the filed 8 or so years later after he started teaching
  • And from the teaching anecdotes he shared with us told us, I think John was a man ahead of his time and his students were incredibly fortunate to have John as their teacher
Coming Up On Thursday – Hills Laboratories Visit
Don’t’ turn up to Rotary at Resthaven this coming week – instead, we’ll see you at Hills Laboratories at 28 Duke Street, Hamilton. We recommend carpooling and we definitely recommend leaving earlier to manage peak hour traffic.

Taste Waikato – 20% Of The Way There
The wonderful Taste Waikato is out and we need your help to sell it. The more you can get out and sell, the more funds we can raise to good in our community.

Key Updates

  • Bill Robinson will be coordinating our marshals for Armistice (10 & 11 November) – this year is the 100 year celebrations so it’s bound to be a magnificent year. If you haven’t signed up yet please let Bill know directly if you can help out.

NOTE The Duty "Magic Moment" is: A short comment referencing something in our community, or within Rotary which you find inspiring, encouraging or adding to the joy and pleasure of life. It should be an uplifting story that takes no more than two minutes to deliver. Ideally it will be something from the last week or so, something others may not yet have heard about.
