Rotary Cambridge's Bookarama 2020 has been postponed due to COVID19. A decision will be made in coming months as to if and when it will be held this year. Because of the postponement, Rotary Cambridge is not collecting or sorting books and will advise when collecting books will recommence.
While a difficult decision to make, it is necessary and appropriate given the current climate we are operating in. Rotary Cambridge have a had a great
year, so it is sad we have had to postpone a couple key projects. It does mean that we will have less money to distribute with our grants round later in the year; however the board felt that this was the responsible decision to make in order to support the health and wellbeing of our community and club members.
Bookarama is a project to recycle books and quality magazines that people no longer need and sell them to raise funds for distribution to the Community. Last year's Bookarama was a great success raising about $17,000 for distribution to charitable organisations working in our community.
