In early June, the daytime group of sewers completed their 5000^th shield !  A big milestone! We have now contributed 2500 Days for Girls kits that have gone all around the world and also to New Zealand girls and women in need.

Each kit that goes out gets two of our shields in it.  We have also sewn 1426 liners that go with the shields. So far this year1000 kits have gone to Fiji.

 

We continue to meet two times a month to sew together; usually the first Wednesday afternoon and Thursday evening of the month.We sew for a couple of hours, have a cup of tea and cake together and catch up on each other's new.  25 women participate in our group either as sewers or helpers, some taking home sewing to complete as well.
